Valar Artichoke Seeds are carefully selected for home gardening and backed by a natural 70% germination rate. Each packet contains 2 g of seeds suitable for growing impressive artichoke plants with large silvery-green foliage and edible flower buds in spacious grow bags, terraces, kitchen gardens, and backyard gardens.

Artichoke seeds grow best in cool to mild weather when sown in Valar’s all-purpose potting mix or any fertile, organic-rich, and well-drained growing medium. Provide plenty of sunlight, consistent moisture, and sufficient space for the large plants to develop healthy foliage and edible flower buds. Artichokes generally perform best when young plants experience cooler temperatures before vigorous growth begins.

Sow the seeds in seedling trays or nursery pots filled with cocopeat and compost. Cover them lightly with soil, keep the growing medium consistently moist, and place them in a well-lit location. Once the seedlings are well established, transplant them into large containers or garden beds with sufficient space for growth.

Artichoke buds can generally be harvested once they become full-sized, firm, and tightly closed. Harvest before the outer bracts begin opening for the best tenderness and eating quality. Seed-grown plants may take several months to establish and produce their first harvest, depending on the variety and growing conditions.
