Sowing Depth: Sow according to seed size. Petunia, Snapdragon, and Salvia seeds are very fine and should be surface-sown or covered only with a very thin layer of growing medium. Dahlia, Cosmos, Marigold Red Brocade, Calendula, Sweet William, and Poppy California can be sown around 0.25 inch deep. Blue Pea / Aparajita can be sown around 0.5–1 inch deep.

Best Sowing Place: Seed trays, nursery pots, pots, grow bags, balconies, terraces, flower beds, backyard gardens, raised beds, and open soil.

Sunlight: Provide around 5–6 hours of sunlight daily. Marigold, Cosmos, Dahlia, Calendula, Poppy, Salvia, and Blue Pea perform best with bright sunlight. Petunia, Snapdragon, and Sweet William also prefer good light but can tolerate some mild partial shade.

Watering: Keep the growing medium lightly and evenly moist during germination. Use gentle watering or misting for tiny seeds such as Petunia, Snapdragon, and Salvia so the seeds are not displaced. Avoid overwatering and waterlogging.

Transplanting: Dahlia, Cosmos, Snapdragon, Marigold, Salvia, Sweet William, and Petunia can be started in seedling trays and transplanted when they develop 3–4 true leaves. Calendula and Poppy California generally perform better with minimal root disturbance and can be directly sown where possible. Blue Pea can be directly sown in its final pot or grow bag.

Spacing: Keep approximately 6–8 inches between Petunia, Calendula, and Sweet William; 8–12 inches between Marigold, Salvia, Snapdragon, and Cosmos; and around 12–18 inches for Dahlia. Blue Pea is a climber and should be given sufficient space along with a trellis or support.

Care Tip: During September, provide good airflow, sunlight, and drainage. Avoid keeping the growing medium constantly wet. Thin crowded seedlings early and remove faded flowers regularly once blooming begins to encourage continued flowering.
